Walk This Way Privacy Policy
Effective October 30, 2026
Walk This Way is a walking activity app from Pie Mobile Apps, LLC (“Pie Mobile Apps,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains how information is accessed, used, stored, and deleted when you use the Android or iOS app.
Information stored on your device
The app stores your saved walk date and time, time zone, duration, optional distance and estimated step count, recording source, edit status, walking goal, personal challenge, earned milestones, preferences, and an active walk recovery checkpoint in the app’s private storage on your device. Step counts are estimated during active GPS and timer walks using the Android step sensor (or accelerometer when unavailable) or the iOS system pedometer. Android may request physical activity permission for its step sensor. Pausing or finishing stops active step updates. The app stores estimated counts, not raw motion readings. Step estimates may not be available on every device. No account is required.
Location
If you choose GPS walk tracking and grant location permission, the app accesses precise location while that walk is active to estimate distance. The app does not record location for timer-only or manually entered walks. GPS route points remain temporarily in the app’s memory to calculate distance. We do not save route coordinates, make route maps, or send your location to Pie Mobile Apps or another service. Pausing or ending the walk stops location tracking; route points are discarded when the tracking session ends.
How we use information
The app uses activity and settings on your device to display your walk history, estimate steps during active walks, calculate your weekly progress, update your personal challenge and badges, and schedule reminders you enable. Information is processed locally by the app. The app does not send activity or location data to our servers or share it with other users.
Third parties and analytics
The app contains no advertising, analytics, account, cloud-sync, or map-service integration. The app does not transmit activity or location data over the internet. Android and iOS manage operating-system location, motion, and notification services under their respective providers’ terms and privacy information.
Retention and deletion
Your information remains in the app’s private storage until you delete a walk, choose “Delete all app data” in Settings, or remove the app or its storage from your device. “Delete all app data” removes walks, goals, challenges, badges, preferences, and active recovery data, and cancels app reminders. Automatic cloud backup and device-transfer backup are disabled. We cannot restore local data after it has been removed or the device is lost. No export feature is available in this version.
Children
The app does not request a name, account, or date of birth. Walking activity and location are not sent to us. Parents and guardians can review device permissions and delete saved activity in the app or by removing the app from the device.
Health information
Walk This Way supports personal activity tracking. It is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice. Walking, distance, and step measurements are estimates; consult a qualified health professional for medical advice.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices change, we will update this policy and its effective date. Material changes will be explained in the app where appropriate.
